The beautiful village of Stanton Drew is mostly off the main route of most residents in the Chew Valley, but if you are driving along the B3130 between Chew Magna and Belluton you will surely notice the beautifully refurbished finger post near to the iconic ‘Round House’. Stanton Drew Parish Council decided it was high time for the parishes four finger posts to undergo a full refurbishment, all were tatty, some had fingers ‘missing in action’ and one seemed to have an eclectic variety of fingers that had been forged differently over the years. Martin Elsbury (previous chair of the Parish Council) undertook an extensive project to get quotes for refurbishment and to sound out local charities for funding support.
