Multicoloured mushrooms for a magical Playground

Multi coloured mushrooms are the final enlivening addition to the Pensford Playground managed by the Pensford Memorial Hall Committee. Laura Baxter and committee friends have been instrumental in an impressive makeover of this valuable community facility. The final part of the improvements has seen the adjacent small woodland copse transformed for imaginative play incorporating these six mushrooms.

Laura explained that Pensford Memorial Hall Committee who manage the playground,  doesn’t receive any funding, so the community has had to fundraise for all the improvements that have been made to date.

Chair of the Community Trust, Andrew Hillman, said “We are delighted to be able to help this wonderful playground with a grant of £1166 for these new mushrooms. The playground facilities now match in quality those in the largest towns and cities and it is great to know how well they are being used. With the warmer weather hopefully now with us, the timing of completion of the project could not be better.”

Andrew went on to say, “huge congratulations to Laura, the Memorial Hall Committee and all those involved in raising a large amount of money and driving the project through.”

Laura thanked the Pensford Publow and The Stantons Community Trust for their generous grant, and also the local ladies who have handcrafted beautiful items  placed around the woodland. Laura went on to say ,“the Committee hope that you will bring your children to Pensford to explore the lovely village playground.”

The playground can be found behind Pensford Memorial Hall with ample of car parking.
