You may have noticed the scaffolding up at St Mary The Virgin Church? The church’s bell stair turret requires quite a lot of work to help sustain it for the future. The total cost of the project is around £20,000.
Trustees of Pensford, Publow and the Stanton’s Community Trust are pleased to have been able to support this with a grant of £4000.
That helped the church to levy very generous grants, nearly £6,000 from The National Churches Trust and £2,000 from Chelwood Community Fund.
For now, St Mary’s extend thanks for grants of £11,625 towards a £20k repair.
The project is being led by Bonnie Kitching, Director and Architect of Hummingbird Architecture Ltd, with Stone Mason Chris of White Acre Stonemasonry.

So as they say “watch this space” for a further update.
Our thanks again go to our 100 club members without whose support we would be unable to fund this important project.
