• What is GDPR? 

The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new piece of legislation which amends the existing Data Protection Act 1998, changing the law around how organisations can process personal information. Its provisions in the UK will be covered by a new Data Protection Bill, which has now been published by the government, it comes into force on 25 May 2018.

  • What is Personal Data?

Personal data is defined as any data relating to an identified or identifiable person.

  • Does it effect PPSCT and PPSCT 100 Club

In short, yes. Individuals, organisations, and companies that are either ‘controllers’ or ‘processors’ of personal data (for example your name, address, email address etc) will be covered by the GDPR.  PPSCT and PPSCT 100 club holds personal data on all members.

  • Who regulates GDPR?

The Information Commissioner’s Office.
