Welcome to the Pensford Publow and The Stantons Community Trust  (PPSCT) website.

The Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission, charity number 1160279.viaduct

Our objects are to further such purposes which may be charitable according to the law of England and Wales as the Trustees see fit by the making of grants for the benefit of the inhabitants of the parishes of Publow with Pensford and Stanton Drew (our Constitution).

The Trust was founded in 2014 and registered on 2nd February 2015. Residents of the villages and others with an interest in our activities are encouraged to become members by the payment of an annual subscription of £10 or by becoming members of our 100 ClubWe raise funds from subscriptions, donations, the proceeds of the 100 Club, and from fundraising events.

The Community Trust 100 Club anchors the Trusts fundraising and I continue to be amazed by the level of support from such small villages. The monthly draw meetings are well attended and now play a fun role in our community life, providing a worthwhile reason to meet up and socialize with monthly prizes of £400 and 2 x £100. Judith Chubb Whittle and Simon Whittle masterminded three fantastically successful Rok the Stones marathons in January 2015, 2016 and 2017 which have all made a healthy and valuable fund raising contribution.

The total of Trust grants paid in 2017 of just over £5,000 tells far from the whole story as several projects have committed funds but these have yet to be called down.

Trust grants paid in the year include £1,200 which helped deliver the Acker Bilk bespoke stone memorial seat officially unveiled in July by Tim Warren, B&NES Council Leader. Waterproofing restoration work to the heritage Pensford “lock up” received £528.25 together with £2000 to the Stanton Drew Sports Field Association to purchase their new “El Torro” mower to keep their fields in order, without which they could not function. There was also a further grant of £1,500 from restricted funds to finish their pavilion project.

We are delighted to see the first renovated finger post in the middle of Pensford and also the Pensford tennis courts fully functioning and being widely used – grants to these two projects having been made previously.

The Community Trust has made, and will continue to make a significant difference through grants made to a number of our valued community groups, facilities and schools in our home parishes of Publow with Pensford, and Stanton Drew.

Details of most of these awards may be found on our projects page. Trustees are keen to make further awards. Grant Application Forms are available to download and our Grant Making Policy is set out in this document.

We live in a most beautiful part of the country. Our over-riding purpose is to make it an even better place to live  – and to have fun whilst doing so.  I would really like to encourage more residents to become “Friends” of The Community Trust.

Thank you for looking and I do hope you will decide to join us.

Andrew Hillman – Chairman of Trustees
